Family Tree Generator
Build a big, detailed family tree right in your browser. Add people, pair partners, link children, and pop open a rich detail view for each person. Everything is stored as JSON: export the whole tree to a file to save it (no login needed), then reupload it later to keep building. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server.
Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom. Click a person to view, edit, and connect relatives — or hit Highlight kin to light up their ancestors, descendants, and partners. Use Insights for statistics, upcoming birthdays & anniversaries, and a duplicate check, and Relate to… to compute exactly how any two people are related. Dashed blue lines mark cross-branch marriages. Import / export JSON (to save & reupload here) or GEDCOM (Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilySearch…), pick a Style, and export a PNG / JPG / SVG image to share online. Your tree is auto-saved in this browser.
JSON structure & upload format
The tree is a single JSON object with a people array and a unions array. Each union pairs partners and lists their children — that's how couples and parent/child links are recorded. Build the file in this shape and the website will read it and draw the tree. Unknown ids are ignored, and most field names accept common aliases (given/surname/born…), so hand-edited files still load. You can also import a standard GEDCOM (.ged) file exported from Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilySearch, or Gramps — Import auto-detects the format.
